Join our group of energetic and enthusiastic volunteers in our Kith & Kids charity shop in Enfield. Volunteers have a fantastic opportunity to help shape our participants' work experience placements within the shop. You will support our participants with all aspects of working in a charity shop, including using the till and customer service and spend time with them to review the skills they have learnt at the end of each shift.

At the shop you will be paired with one of our participants with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to complete the job/role they have been given for that specific day and encourage them to practice their social skills by interacting with the public in a polite and friendly manner. You will also encourage them to work as part of a team and engage socially with staff and volunteers present in the shop. You will build their confidence and encourage them to take on new challenges.

Having a job and being independent are all things we often take for granted. For people in the ELSP group these things are hard to achieve without support.

  • Our volunteers say

"It was great to see how much the members of the group could do with just a bit of support. They really started to gain confidence with the different tasks, and the customers".
    Jim (46, software developer)
