Tim was a practising solicitor for over 20 years but then decided to
strike out on his own to focus just on the preparation of Wills and
Lasting Powers of Attorney. Tim is a full member of STEP - a global
professional body comprising lawyers, accountants and other
practitioners that help families plan for their future. Tim is also
a member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers (IPW).
Tim has been selected by Lynne Brooke, himself a solicitor with over
50 years' experience, who is a trustee of K&K and parent of Jemima
who had profound and multiple learning disabilities. Jemima died in
December 2023 aged 52.
Lynne has the knowledge about discretionary trusts which are an
important component of making provision for your children. Lynne's
advice is free, and he has no fee sharing or commission arrangements
with Tim. Lynne simply says that Tim is “the best he has come
across”.
How it works:
1. As a K&K supporter, Tim offers a free Zoom consultation to
ascertain the issues involved and explain how different Will
structures can be used to protect your chosen beneficiaries.
2. If you wish, Tim can then provide you with a written summary of
the advice during the zoom call, including his recommendations. If
you opt for the written summary, there will be a small fee (£100)
for the additional work involved.
3. If you subsequently decide to instruct Tim to prepare Wills or
LPAs for you, that £100 will be deducted from his fees. All Tim's
fees are fixed - there are no hourly rates and before incurring it,
you will be told how much the fixed fee will be.
4. When Tim's invoice is settled, he will donate 25% of his fee to
K&K.
